The 2025 F1 calendar was announced on April 12th, 2024 – much earlier than in preceding years.
The schedule features the same 24 events as the previous year’s championship, albeit with some changes to the running order. The most significant of these sees the Australian Grand Prix return to the season-opening slot it last occupied in 2019. The Albert Park circuit in Melbourne was supposed to hold the first race of the 2020 world championship but the event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.Bahrain, which held the season-opening round for the previous four years, will be the fourth round on the 2025 F1 calendar. Its race was held on a Saturday in 2024, as was the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, but both will return to being Sunday events.
As was the case in the previous two seasons, six rounds on the 2025 F1 calendar will feature additional sprint races. Five of these – Brazil, China, Qatar, USA and Las Vegas – also held sprint races the previous year. The Belgian Grand Prix will also be a sprint event in 2025, instead of the Austrian round.
