The final third of the Formula 1 season begins this weekend with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku City Circuit, where Formula 2 is also in action.
Meanwhile the IndyCar season concludes at Nashville superspeedway, instead of the street circuit which was supposed to hold the race, where the championship will be decided. The World Endurance Championship season also continues at Fuji Speedway in Japan.

Even though practice sessions have fixed overall duration, starting FP2 less than two hours before sunset is still unnecessarily close on a non-floodlit circuit, especially one with buildings covering direct sunlight when the altitude is already low at the beginning, & even more so towards the end, so at least an hour, if not two, earlier would be better.
Zero justification or benefit in starting this close & this is matter is only about a non-competitive session on a weekday, so even the TV viewing figure aspect is inapplicable.
